5 Reasons I Enjoyed Staying at Trillium Woods Campground #discoverontario

5 Reasons I Enjoyed Staying at Trillium Woods Campground #discoverontario

It's been almost 10 years since I have camped near Sauble Beach, Ontario.  For a variety of reasons our family was unable to make the journey up to this beautiful area of the province during this time.  I truly wish we didn't have to wait so long.  As I continue to fall in love with camping, something we did for about 3 weeks every year when I was growing up, my love for this area of Ontario also continues to grow. Previous family camping trips to the area meant the familiarity of camping at Sauble Falls Provincial Park.  This is what we did when I was growing up and since I don't typically like change our last trip in the early 2000's had us camped along the Sauble River at the Provincial Park.  Fast forward 10 years and my wife and 4 kids have found a new family favourite in Trillium Woods Campground.   Trillium Woods is efficiently run by a great couple, Robin and DeLeigh Lawrence.  Thanks to the campground owners, I am learning how great private campgrounds can be.  As we camped in late August I reflected on 5 Reasons I Enjoyed Staying at Trillium Woods Campground. 5 Reasons I...

Geocaching near Sauble Beach

Geocaching near Sauble Beach

Yesterday myself, B and campers Gordie & Arles went geocaching just south of Sauble beach. It was a fun 3 hours and we found 6 caches. Some were a bit more challenging then others. The picture above was one that took a bit more time to actually spot, then to figure out how to get it down. Very inguenious, then another B found - he sniffed it out (see pic below). it was fun driving around and poking around. Geocaching takes you down roads and places you would not normally go or see. There are some spectacular inland views in the area. Once you get into it there are many caches to be found in the area and you can do this activity all over the world. If you are not sure what I'm talking about check out the website www.geocaching.com I hope I get to do more geocaching and all I want for Christmas is a handheld GPS, so I don't have to fight Gordies for his all the time. ;)If anyone has more questions about this, please contact us. I'll answer to the best of my ability, but I've only just started and I'm hooked, but have a lot to learn. B really likes the...
