Bruce Trail

The Bruce Trail, Canada’s oldest and longest marked footpath, provides the only continuous public access to the magnificent Niagara Escarpment, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. Running along the Escarpment from Niagara to Tobermory, it spans more than 890 km of main Trail and over 400 km of associated side trails.

Geocaching

Geocaching is a type of treasure hunt of people looking for caches, or hidden stashes of objects. Geocaching may also be described as a series of hide-and-seek games, where hiders provide online clues for seekers.

Rural Rootz Rock Hike (Bruce Trail Side Trail)

Sauble Falls 

Sauble Trail 2.5km (2 hours) easy 
- This trail travels primarily through a Red Pine plantation. An interpretive leaflet explains current and historic forest management practices in the area. Bicycles are not allowed on this trail which travels through an area of ancient sand dunes.

Spirit Rock Hike (Bruce Trail Side Trail)

“This easy, one-hour loop takes you past the site of the Corran, a crumbling ruin that was once the site of a stately 17-room stone mansion built in the early 1880’s by a wealthy lawyer & politician.”

Mountain Biking

Lindsay Tract Mountain Biking

The Lindsay Tract is the largest of the County Forests consisting of more than 8000 acres. This diverse property has amazing trail potential but also contains sensitive habitat for the Black Bear and Eastern Massasauga Rattle Snake. Development began back in May of 2008 and we will continue to build new trail experiences in the years to come.

Mountain Bike Adventure Park

“Located just north of Wiarton on Bruce Road 9, the Mountain Bike Adventure Park provides riders with over 15km of both double and single track trails. This property has seen many upgrades over the years, which includes 3.5 km gravel chariot loop. Local riders consider the MTB Park one of the most challenging trail properties within the County of Bruce. Rocky outcrops, armored tread sections, wicked rock outcrops and newly created family friendly loops put this property high on the “to-do-list” of MTB riders. A bonus feature is the Pump Track located at the trailhead. Created from packed earth, this continuous loop allows riders to pump through berms and rollers without peddling. Check it out!”
